🚀 Why Your 'Why' Is So Important When You're On Your Sobriety Journey...

Updated: Feb 4, 2022

The reason you want to remove an addictive behaviour, your ‘why’, is so important when you're on that journey.

.

If you don’t have a big ‘why’...

.

You’re not going to succeed.

.

You’ll find any little excuse to fall back into old habits - old ways of being.

.

If you have a big enough ‘why’...

.

It’ll keep you on the road to success.

.

Because along your journey there will be times when that voice in your head (you) will tell you it’s ok to go back to that old way of living.

.

There’ll be times when ‘life’ happens and challenges come up - that’s life.

.

Whether you stay sober or clean, or revert back into old habits, life will still happen…

.

And there will be challenges no matter what…

.

But challenges are better dealt with sober and clean.

.

Because the reason you drink or use, probably, is because you don’t want to deal with those challenges, right?

.

Of course that’s not the only reason you drink and use, but it’s one of them.

.

So, get a big enough ‘why’ and sobriety becomes a little easier.

.

It won’t be ‘easy’...

.

Nothing worth having is easy to obtain.

.

But it’ll be worth it in the end.

.

Any your ‘why’ will keep you moving in the right direction.

.

So, what should you do now?

.

Discover your ‘why’ of course.

.

Get it clear and concise…

.

And keep it in the forefront of your mind at all times…

.

Especially when the desire to drink or use pops into your mind - which it will.

.

But…

.

With time that desire will subside and you’ll start to see the benefits of a sober life.

.

And once you start to see the benefits of a sober life…

.

Staying sober become easier and easier.

.

Until eventually it becomes effortless.

.

If you’re thinking of starting your sobriety journey…

.

Or you’re already on that journey but finding it tough going…
